Director of Contracts

6 years at Ridgeline

How would you describe your role?

I lead and provide direction for all activities in Ridgeline’s contracts administration function, and my team is relied upon for conducting streamlined negotiation, creation, execution, and closeout of contracts. I am challenged by finding creative solutions that optimize our contract management activity that can lead to operational efficiencies. A key part of my role is to ensure compliance, perform risk management, and audit activity against our policies and procedures.  Finally, I have the pleasure of working with all functions here at Ridgeline as we collectively work to deliver our services.

How would you describe your leadership style?

I try to lead by example, with integrity, and in accordance with my own values. The great thing about working at Ridgeline is that our values align. I encourage creativity and the innovative ideas within my team and strive to create an environment that inspires a cohesive team dynamic.

What’s something new you’ve learned recently?

Whole heartedly embracing change. I’ve always carried the willingness to do things differently, and this year’s focus is to accept change as a positive development and integrate it in both my personal and professional life.

What’s your super power?

If I could have just one, it would be the power to heal. Maybe through sharing food (think Julieta from Encanto, ha!) because I do like to cook.

If I was lucky enough to have a second super power, it would be mind reading. Mind reading would have a few uses, to include knowing what our customers are thinking. That would make working in Contracts just a little easier.

How would you describe Ridgeline’s culture?

Working at Ridgeline, we solve problems that matter. These are complex problems that our customers have, and we provide the valuable solutions that they need. The atmosphere we’ve created here is eclectic; the vibe is creative, inviting, and humble. Our desire to meet the mission is fueled by hard working teammates that have a passion to create unique solutions for our customers.

What’s something happening at Ridgeline that you’re excited to see grow or develop?

I’m excited about the shift to being more transparent about our business and what we do. I think it’s exciting to be more overt in the marketplace and to be able to discuss what Ridgeline is doing with the products that we have.

Can you tell us about a time when you were inspired or impressed by the work of another Ridgeliner?

Something I’ve seen throughout my time here that really impresses me is people volunteering to do something that’s not necessarily within the bounds of their role or day-to-day activities. There’s a willingness to raise your hand here to offer help and to actively search for solutions together. That motivation to help wherever they can, that’s what impresses me about my fellow Ridgeliners.

I also have to share, that each time I sit in a demo of one of Ridgeline’s products I am impressed. It’s amazing what achievements our teammates have created.

What makes Ridgeline unique?

Ridgeline is investing in people, who are investing in Ridgeline. This is a place where employees are appreciated and recognized for their hard work, their wellbeing is important and supported with excellent fringe benefits and flexible work schedules, there is transparency in decision making, and leaders are empowered to lead their teams. Sometimes you are lucky to find one or two of these qualities, but Ridgeline is unique in that it continuously strives to meet all of these qualities.
