What did you work on yesterday?
Yesterday I participated in our monthly program management update, where the leadership team gets an overview of what’s happening in each program and function across the company – significant events, opportunities, risks, etc. I also participated in a candidate experience workshop that our talent acquisition team put together. A small group of us spent two hours reviewing how we currently engage candidates and then brainstormed ways we can enact a world-class hiring experience. I participated in a business development meeting and discussion about how we’re presenting Ridgeline to the outside world. And also submitted an application for an award that recognizes veteran-friendly employers.
How would you describe what you do at Ridgeline?
I see myself as a bridge-builder, someone who helps connect dots. I get to help bridge communication gaps within the company and between Ridgeline and the outside world. I get to collect and disseminate information that people need; promote healthy, two-way communication practices where everyone has a voice; and create events to help facilitate dialogue and deepen engagement across the company. I get to tell Ridgeline’s story both internally and externally, and invite people to participate in our story.
Why did you come to Ridgeline?
When I learned about Ridgeline, I was very energized by the way they approached problem solving and the caliber of people on the team. I am fascinated by people who think big thoughts and don’t conform to anyone’s expectations. I like being part of a team that is full of creativity and leaves room for people to do what they do best. I saw those things here and wanted to be a part of it.
Why have you stayed at Ridgeline?
I am learning and growing, both personally and professionally, on a daily basis. I’m invested in what we’re doing and I believe in how we’re doing it. I love that this is a company that is intentionally shaped by those of us who work here. We get to make this the company we want to work for and I really appreciate that kind of ownership and responsibility. I’m really proud of what we’re building together and want to keep being a part of that.
What advice would you give to someone considering working at Ridgeline? Why should they do it? Why should they not?
This is a great place to learn, grow and explore. If you’re someone who likes to create solutions, this might be the place for you. If you’d rather have the solution given to you, this might not be the place for you.
What kind of things do you enjoy outside of work?
Quality time with people I love is one of the things I value most in life. I’m particularly fond of time with my husband and four step-sons, a menagerie of friends and family, my church community, and my beloved pup. I also really like to read, write, ponder existential questions, go for walks with my dog, and practice Pilates.
